Crafting Safety and Beauty: A Balcony Barrier Transformation

Since I started doing metal works, especially simple stick welding, I have grown very fond of it. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect. I am grateful to my clients for the opportunities they give me to hone my skills.

One recent project involved creating a new balcony barrier to replace an old one. This particular task had its challenges, but I truly enjoyed working on it. The barrier was designed to be installed on the second floor, spanning a width of 3.8 meters.

To facilitate transportation and installation, I constructed it in three separate parts.

The three sections were carefully transported and then welded together on the balcony itself, after the old barrier had been removed completely. This approach not only made the installation process smoother but also ensured a secure and precise fit.

The removal of the old barrier exposed the fragility of the wooden structure.

Once the new barrier was securely fixed to the walls and floor, I took the time to add a few final touches. I applied primer and paint to protect the metal and give it a clean, finished look. The result was a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing balcony barrier that enhanced both the safety and appearance of the space.

This project was a reminder of how much I enjoy the craft of metalworking and the satisfaction that comes from transforming raw materials into functional and beautiful structures. I'm thankful for the trust my clients place in me and the opportunities to improve my skills with each project.
