Nothing but a Loft for the Rabbits

I recently had the pleasure of working on a fantastic project that turned out to be both challenging and rewarding. The client provided me with a model and requested a few modifications to suit their specific needs. I was excited to take on this project and bring their vision to life.

The project involved constructing a spacious and functional home for rabbits. Given the nature of these furry little creatures, who are known for multiplying quickly, it was essential to design something that was both practical and durable.

The fenced cage dimensions are a cuboid of 1.50 meters in width, 1.00 meter in height, and 1.50 meters in depth. The attached apartment, which provides a cozy living space for the rabbits, measures 1.50 meters in width, 1.00 meter in height, and 0.80 meters in depth.

One of the key features of this design is that the cage and apartment can be easily separated, making it convenient to move around as needed. This flexibility was an important consideration for the client, and I was glad to incorporate it into the final product.

For the apartment's skeleton, I chose Meranti wood due to its strength and durability. The exterior walls were crafted from pallet wood, giving it a rustic and charming appearance. This combination of materials ensured that the structure was not only sturdy but also aesthetically pleasing.

In addition to the main structures, I also made a feeder using some leftover cutoffs. It was a small yet satisfying addition that completed the project. Although the construction took quite a few long hours, seeing the project come together was incredibly rewarding. There’s always room for improvement, and I look forward to refining my techniques with each project I undertake.

The end result may not be perfect, but it’s a testament to the effort and care I put into my work. Most importantly, the client was satisfied, which makes all the hard work worthwhile. I’m grateful for the opportunity to take on such projects and continually learn and grow in my craft.
